Sounds in my back yard

A donkey brays, horses neigh
Birds sing, dogs bark,
Bugs buzz, chickens cluck
Sounds in my back yard.

Children laugh, people talk,
Chimes ring, radio sings,
Cars whiz past,
Sounds in my back yard.

What are the sounds you hear when standing outside in your neighborhood?

What I like about May

Lance at 14 weeks and now almost 25 pounds.
Little brother Logan is catching up matching Lance's weight.

It is nice to sit outside this week when the weather has been sunny and in the 70's. Perfect weather if only it could last. I don't like it too hot especially with high humidity. The flowers are in bloom and Mom and K started a garden this week. Oh the strawberries are tasting good from the grocery store and I know the local markets will be even better. K and I have been picking strawberries the past 2 years at the local orchards. Another thing I like about May is all the rummage sales and flea markets. No big treasures yet but who knows what I'll discover at the rummage sale tomorrow. I've been working on a thread crochet project and will see what it turns out to be.

My musings with the Lord

Yesterday I enjoyed the afternoon at the All Saints Convent. Their 88 acres of wooded property is very peaceful and I used the time to pray and meditate. Here are some of my thoughts:

Joy comes when something lost is found
Joy comes when sorrows have lifted
Joys comes when God's Spirit is felt
Joy comes when God's voice is heard
Joy comes when my eyes are opened
Joy comes when God's will is known

Lord let me grow to be
a tall strong tree
firmly planted in Your forest
Let my branches reach upward
in praise to You
Let my roots go deep
in the soil of Your love
Let my leaves rustle in the wind
making music that delights You
