A Tribute to My Grandmother
Today is the birthday of my beloved grandmother who would have been 95. She was an inspiration to me. She taught me how to knit and sew as well as baking. We were pen pals since I was in elementary school. I was fortunate to spend a summer with her when I was 16 and she helped teach me how to drive. I'm sure my sister remembers the day I drove on the wrong side of the road! In the evenings my sister and I played rummy with her out on her screened porch and days on the beach at Lake Michigan. I really miss her and when I knit and do other crafty things; it makes me think of her. Thank you God for such a great grandmother. I'll see you in heaven Grandma!

A Nice Day for Tea in Wilmington NC
Thank goodness for cell phone cameras. While a huge thunderstorm was taking place outside, my two sister-in-laws and I enjoyed tea at the Wilmington Tea Room in Wilmington NC. We shared the full tea and ordered Kyoto Cherry green tea which was delicious. I will definitely want to go back when I visit again. The beach at Wrightsville was awesome and my brother caught a blue crab using a plastic sand pail. I spotted a skate in the water that was almost the color of the sand itself. Despite the mosquitos we braved it outside for a visit at Fort Fisher civil war site and took the puppies on the beach for their first time.
