What I'm reading among other things...

I decided to start reading God's Smuggler, a book about Brother Andrews last night. I've been doing a lot of research recently on missions to Russia and it jarred my memory about his ministry to the people of the Soviet Union. I find it inspiring to read about other Christians doing great things for the kingdom of God, especially those with little worldly education.
I am now reading Anne of Avonlea by Lucy Maud Montgomery but find it slow compared to the first novel. It is quite different from the movie so I'm thinking the movie borrowed from future books to make it more exciting.
Not much progress on my creative projects this week but my niece and I worked on some crafts together. We made some jewelry from a kit and Perler bead shapes. Stayed home yesterday due to another ice storm. I wish we would get a good snowstorm before the winter ends so my niece and I can go sledding and make snowpeople.

Ice Ice Baby

Yesterday and throughout the night we accumulated about an inch of ice. Just a year ago we had a similiar storm but the ice lasted longer due to colder temps. It took me about 30 minutes to de-ice my car. It is pretty to look at but that is about all I can think of to say that's positive about an ice storm.
I started sanding the dollhouse and put another coat of primer on it. I need to find a way to fix the nails that are exposed. I bought the wood for the roof and porch but wish I had known to get cabinet grade plywood. For the exterior of the house I chose a bright yellow and plan to paint the shutters green. It will be fun to finally get some color on the house.
